Monthly news from Charlie Maynard MP - January 2025
Happy New Year. May I wish you and your family every happiness and success in 2025. I have already been working hard this year to champion the issues that I know are important in our constituency.
We're working for you all year round - not just at election times - to make our local community a freer, fairer, and greener place to live and work. Unlike the two main parties, the Lib Dems don't get funding from big businesses or unions. Instead, we survive on donations from local residents and supporters like you. We need your support to help level the playing field between our team of local community champions vs the big parties with bigger budgets. Help us build a better future for Witney & West Oxfordshire today by donating to our fighting fund - every donation counts.

More than £300,000 of extra funding has been given to two swimming pools to make them more energy efficient. Windrush Leisure Centre, in Witney, and Chipping Norton Lido received the money from Sport England through its Swimming Pool Support Fund.
How do we want West Oxfordshire to look in the coming decades? We're at a critical juncture and we all need to make sure it develops the way we want.
Over the last 3 years Charlie Maynard has been focused on exploring bringing back a rail line to Witney. The proposed train would run closely alongside the A40, reducing traffic on the road significantly and improving journey times by up to 70%.
