Winning a General Election is all down to our volunteers! It’s a huge logistical operation and there are many ways you can help Charlie get elected. Read more about Charlie here
Whether you can spare two hours a month or 20, we've got just the job for you.
First-time volunteer? No problem at all — we'll show you the ropes and you'll be up and running in no time.
Here are some concrete examples of how you can help us win:
- Leafleting: Leaflets remain the best way to get a message out to voters. We need leaflets delivered on a regular basis throughout the campaign. The more leafleters we have, the less time each batch will take to deliver. You will be allocated a ‘walk’ to do and be part of a team in your local area.
- Canvassing: Canvassing involves knocking on doors and talking to people to identify our supporters. Again, you will be part of a team and do not need any prior knowledge. Ben, one of our campaign coordinators, will explain what to do. Being friendly and outgoing are the main requirements in a job that is absolutely critical to winning.
- Clerical work: Clerical work involves tasks like writing addresses on envelopes, which can be done from home, although our volunteers, led by Sally, often meet up to get through the work together.
- Phone calls: If you prefer not to leave the house, one way to help is by making telephone calls. This might be on the day of the election to get out the vote or beforehand, identifying supporters and coordinating volunteers.
- Put up a Poster: Put up a poster in front of your house or in your window to show your support!
- Sharing and creating social media content. There are a lot of Facebook groups and opportunities to talk about Charlie on social media. It would be wonderful if you could write about your own experience with him, especially if it’s something he’s been helpful on! If you tag us, we can then share it. Equally, if you like one of his posts, please share it. It only takes a minute and makes a huge difference. His social media accounts include Facebook, Twitter / X, Instagram and LinkedIn.
- Organise Events: During this campaign, we’d like Charlie to meet as many voters as possible so that they can get to know him and what he stands for. If you’d like to organise an event at your local pub or other venue, please do! Charlie can come and talk and answer questions.
- Talking to friends about Charlie: If you think Charlie would make a good MP and stand up for our community, tell your friends about him.
